# Montelukast/Levocetirizine
## Overview
Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist. Levocetirizine is a second-generation antihistamine. This combination is used for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria.
## Primary Indications
* Allergic rhinitis (seasonal and perennial)
* Chronic idiopathic urticaria
## Adult Dosing
* **Allergic Rhinitis:** Montelukast 10 mg orally once daily plus levocetirizine 5 mg orally once daily.
* **Chronic Urticaria:** Montelukast 10 mg orally once daily plus levocetirizine 5 mg orally once daily.
The maximum daily dose for montelukast is 10 mg. The maximum daily dose for levocetirizine is 5 mg.
## Pediatric Dosing
Dosing for the combination product in pediatrics is weight-based and age-dependent.
* **Children 6 to 11 months:** Montelukast 4 mg orally once daily; levocetirizine is not typically recommended in this age group due to limited data.
* **Children 1 to 5 years:** Montelukast 4 mg orally once daily plus levocetirizine 1.25 mg orally once daily.
* **Children 6 to 14 years:** Montelukast 5 mg orally once daily plus levocetirizine 2.5 mg orally once daily.
* **Adolescents 15 years and older:** Montelukast 10 mg orally once daily plus levocetirizine 5 mg orally once daily.

## Dose Adjustments
