# Methycobalime (methylcobalamin)
## Overview
Methycobalime is an injectable form of methylcobalamin, an active coenzyme form of vitamin B12. It is primarily used for vitamin B12 deficiency and related neurological disorders.
## Primary Indications
* Treatment of vitamin B12 deficiency.
* Neurological disorders associated with vitamin B12 deficiency, such as pernicious anemia and other megaloblastic anemias.
* Peripheral neuropathy.
## Adult Dosing
* **Initial treatment of deficiency:** Typically 1000 mcg intramuscularly daily for one week, followed by 1000 mcg intramuscularly twice weekly for one month.
* **Maintenance:** 1000 mcg intramuscularly once a month.

## Pediatric Dosing
