# Fluids in Pediatrics

* **Balanced Crystalloids:** Evidence increasingly supports the use of balanced fluids (e.g., Lactated Ringer’s or Plasma-Lyte) over 0.9% NaCl to reduce the incidence of hyperchloremic metabolic acidosis.
* **Assessment:** Always choose the most isotonic fluid available for resuscitation.
