# Clotrimazole (Otics)
## Overview
Clotrimazole is a broad-spectrum synthetic antifungal agent used topically.
## Primary Indications
Fungal infections of the external ear canal (otomycosis).
## Adult Dosing
* **Otitis Externa:** Instill 10 drops into the affected ear(s) twice daily. Duration of treatment should be at least 4 weeks.
## Pediatric Dosing
* Data on otic use in pediatric patients is limited. Dosing is typically guided by adult recommendations, but caution and professional guidance are advised.
## Dose Adjustments
No dose adjustments are typically required based on renal or hepatic impairment for topical otic preparations.
## Contraindications
